Mini Session FAQ

  • An unlimited amount! Every session and situation is different, so I don’t like to put a cap on the number that you receive. On average for a mini session, you can expect at least 75 beautifully edited images to be returned back to you. I also like to send you a handful of sneak peeks about 24 hours after your session.

Full galleries will be delivered to you 3 weeks after your session via a private online gallery called Pixieset. You’re able to view your photos, choose favorites, share with anyone that you want and download all of the high-res versions. It’s recommended that you back up your photos via an online service or hard drive. Galleries will stay online for 6 months, so you have plenty of time to download them!

  • Bender Park is one of my favorite parks to shoot at any time of the year. It’s quiet, not crowded, has easy parking, and offers so many different background options for your photos. If you sign up for these mini sessions, the photoshoot will take place at Bender Park.

  • You’d be surprised by how much we can accomplish together in a short amount of time. I keep the poses and prompts moving along to provide you with the most variety as possible.

  • Fill out the form above!

I’ll respond to your inquiry within 24 hours to confirm your time. After that, I send you a contract and invoice to your email for you to review and sign. Payment is due in full to book your session. Once the contract is signed and the payment is made, you can consider yourself officially booked! I’m always available via email to answer questions and will reach out to you as we get closer to the mini session date.

  • That’s what I’m here for! I like to use a combination of poses and prompts to add a lot of variety to your session. As long as you’re open to the direction and have fun with it, you’ll get amazing photos in return.

I’m always happy to hear what ideas you have for your photoshoot, however it’s not good etiquette to ask your photographer to copy a bunch of poses you see on the internet. I’ll do my best to get inspired by something you see and make it happen for you.

  • I will help guide you through your outfit choices and even review them if you send me a picture! But here are some tips:

Dress in something that you feel comfortable in. When you feel comfortable, it shows in the photos.

    But also, dress your best!

Neutral colors and textures photograph well (Greys, whites, browns, beiges, khaki, denim, blues).

Layering also photographs well and gives you some options.

Accessories are great! Hats, jewelry, etc.

Think about complementing each other vs. matching.

    Limit bold stripes or plaids.

Avoid large logos on your clothing.

Wear comfortable shoes as we're usually running around and/or walking through brush or foliage.

    Finally - be yourself!

  • Sad! But I understand that life happens. If you need to cancel, please let me know as soon as possible so I can rebook your spot. Cancelations will only be refunded if it’s 2 weeks or more from the mini session date. If you’d rather reschedule, I will work with you to find a date and time that works with both of our schedules.

  • As long as it’s not raining, the shoot is on! I will communicate with you via email if I feel like the weather is not going to work and we need to reschedule. The rain back up date for these mini sessions is Sunday, August 6th. Your time slot will stay the same if we need to reschedule.

  • Absolutely! Dogs are family, and this park is dog friendly. Depending on the temperament of your dog, It might be helpful to bring someone along that can wrangle or watch the dog when they’re not in your photos. Typically, I like to start with shots of you and your dog, and then they can take a break for the remainder of your session.

  • If you’re able, bringing a grandparent/aunt or uncle/friend/etc. is helpful to keep those little kids happy and to get them to smile. I try to keep things moving as quickly as possible since little kids don’t have much of an attention span beyond our 25 minutes together.

About Amber

I’ve had many creative roles in my career, from graphic designer, to email marketer, to my current role as an art director. Through it all, photography has managed to stir my soul and capture my heart. It’s hard to pin down a start date for when I started to call myself a photographer. But what began as innocently capturing moments of my friends has blossomed into a career that I’m extremely proud of.

Photography has allowed me the opportunity to meet some amazing people. I’m so grateful for my clients, for allowing me into their lives to capture their most cherished moments. I love making people feel good, and to see their reactions when I capture a side of themselves that they might not have seen before. I truly love what I do.
